Erosion

Erosion refers to a process whereby a flowing single-phase or multi-phase fluid attacks or removes material. This may be caused by corrosion, wear or cavitation. 

Common manifestations of material removal

• Erosion corrosion (see corrosion) 
• Erosive wear (see abrasion, wear) 
• Cavitation erosion (see cavitation, wear)
