Sustainability as a driving force for KSB
The world today faces many serious challenges that need the collective action of different stakeholders - those who make and enforce the rules, those who run and innovate the businesses, those who advocate and campaign for the causes, and those who live and participate in the society. We, at, think that businesses have a lot of potential to make a positive and lasting impact on society with their management and innovation skills.
Motivated by the chance to serve the greater good of society, we set a Vision twenty years ago to become a National Champion by following the principle of ‘Putting India First’ - prioritizing Country over Corporation and the Institution over Individual. This commitment to build an exemplary Indian enterprise led to the development of innovative business models that integrated the generation of economic wealth with the creation of ecological and social capital as a unified strategy.
We have top-notch facilities in India to help customers, design and test products, make them, and ensure they're the best in fluid mechanics. We've invested a lot in our factories, products, and buildings. We made our Sinnar factory bigger to build things for our main business, and we improved our Steel Foundry to make more. We also expanded our warehouse in Chinchwad to store more spare parts. To sell more in the East and North-East of India, we opened a new office in Patna. We also opened an office in Dhaka, Bangladesh, to work with companies there. We're also big on Mechanical Seals, so we opened a repair center in Chinchwad. And since our Valves Division is growing, we opened a new training center for them in Coimbatore.
Sustainable Actions
Along with business growth, KSB also prioritises its ESG - Sustainability initiatives. On the front of reducing emissions, we are driving an ambitious target of 50% reduction in emissions over the actual emissions of 2018 by 2023. We also drive sustainability through our products like FGD and nuclear pumps which help in generation of clean energy. Among other initiatives we undertook plantation of around 8,000+ trees during the year within company premises at various plants and in surroundings.
