Speaking of operations at Power Projects Division (PPD), Chinchwad, in those days various pumps for critical operations in different industries like Fertilizer and Chemical plants, nuclear power stations and thermal power stations were being manufactured at PPD. Since 2017, all these critical pumps are manufactured at Energy Pumps Division (EPD) at Shirwal and the PPD plant is dedicated to SupremeServ operations. If these critical application pumps stop working, the whole plant can come to a standstill. Hence the losses incurred could be in lakhs or crores. No compromise is ever made with the quality of pumps. 

I visited many client's sites for servicing of pumps. Once we visited Solapur Thermal Power Station, where our CHTD boiler feed pumps have been running for the past 10+ years. When we opened it for servicing all the impeller, the diffuser, stage casing and shaft were shining as if they were newly fitted parts. Such is the quality of pumps manufactured by KSB.

I also visited NPCIL Tarapur Nuclear Power Station for servicing of our RVM 80-245/15 primary pressurizing pumps. Since the plant was shut down, I was told to open the pump and assemble it again. The pump was running for 17 years in the plant and I was told to complete the servicing of the pump in 4 days as they wanted to start their operations in 5-6 days. I was under immense pressure to complete the work in a given short time. I was thinking about the condition of spare parts of a pump that has been running for 17 years. But to my surprise, all parts of the pump-shaft, impeller, diffusers, stage casing, cover and other parts were all in good condition. I completed the servicing of pumps along with its testing in 4 days as desired by the client. The long life of spare parts in pumps is the reason why KSB pumps have been successful in working at critical applications across industries over the years.

While working with KSB, I have visited BARC (Mumbai), Narora Nuclear Plant (Uttar Pradesh), Rawatbhata Nuclear Power Plant (Rajasthan), Kaiga Nuclear Power Plant (Karnataka), Kakrapar Nuclear Power Plant (Gujarat), Tarapur Nuclear Power Plant also DMD Submarine pumps (Vishakhapatnam) and successfully completed the servicing of pumps in different plants. Every time I have received positive feedback from our clients about the quality of pumps, tools, setup and spares packing. When our clients praised KSB and its products in comparison with others, those moments filled me with great pride, which I cannot express in words!!

I was given the opportunity to visit KSB (Germany) twice for testing of CHTR pump assembly. Also, I was sent to KSB (China) for RHMR pump assembly to give training to the local workers. In both places I was able to successfully complete my assignments and for that I give credit to the work ethics and discipline with which we conducted our work in KSB India.

One specific thing I want to highlight in my long journey with KSB. Most of the management used to work on the shop floor earlier and with their hard work and dedication, they were promoted to the management team of KSB, which gives a positive message to every employee of KSB that if you perform your duties effectively and with dedication, you will be promoted higher up. The management is always willing to listen to our questions, we just need to approach them for any issues and they always listen and provide a solution to our issues. To have such cooperative management makes us feel less burdened and we are assured of guidance whenever we need it.

The management team keeps a keen eye on the workings of all departments, be it marketing or shop floor, etc, which helps in ensuring proper communication and productivity, resulting in the growth of the company. This gives encouragement to all the employees and workmen to work with discipline and attention, so that the productivity of each employee is maintained or increased. Dedication of every employee of KSB helps it to achieve the growth as planned. I truly believe KSB has a very bright future ahead and I wish everyone at KSB good luck. I'm proud to have been associated with KSB for these many years.
