I joined KSB under the apprenticeship program on 5th September 1981 after completing my ITI course. After completing the 1-year apprenticeship, I cleared my VTRI exam with good marks. I scored 1st rank in the Sangli center, Maharashtra and I was awarded a bronze medal from the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India. I was further sponsored by KSB Limited for participating in the State Level Silver Medal exam which was held in Mumbai.
After completion of the ITI program, the Maharashtra Govt. sent a recommendation letter regarding my employment to various companies. I preferred to work with KSB because of the knowledge that I had gained about pumps during my apprenticeship days and also because of KSB's work culture.
Since the apprenticeship program was my first practical exposure to the manufacturing industry, all my colleagues and seniors were very warm and supportive and made me feel at home! There were a total of 40 people working at KSB under the apprenticeship program out of which, I was the only person absorbed to become a permanent employee at KSB!
I also got an opportunity to work in the Service & Repairs department. The flat organization structure was maintained so that we could have direct communication with our director, which helped us to convey and resolve all our service-related issues faced on-site and also at our service centers. This also helped the Higher Management understand the problems faced during servicing of our pumps.
I can proudly say that while working with KSB, I was able to give good quality education to all my children. Today all my 3 children have completed their graduation in Engineering and have become independent. I always believed that if I work with sincerity and hard work, the company will reward me back equally and the company has done that for me. When I look back now after all these years, I am very happy that I made the decision of choosing KSB!!
