KSB Shanghai Celebrates 30th Anniversary and Inauguration of Chemical Engineering Pump Plant

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including officials from the Shanghai Minhang District Government, the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Shanghai, AHK Greater China, KSB Group, Shanghai Electric Group, Shanghai Real Estate Minhong (Group) Co., Ltd, and the China General Machinery Industry Association, along with various industry partners.

The newly inaugurated chemical engineering pump plant represents one of KSB Shanghai's largest single investments to date, with a total investment of 110 million RMB. This green, digital, and integrated facility is expected to generate an additional annual output value of 450 million RMB, significantly boosting KSB Shanghai's petrochemical business.

During the celebration, Mr. Feng Xiaoming, Party Secretary and Executive Director of Shanghai Real Estate Minhong (Group) Co., Ltd, expressed gratitude for KSB Group's 30-year investment and development in China. He highlighted KSB's contributions in terms of capital, products, technology, talent, and management expertise, as well as its role as an industry benchmark. Mr. Feng also emphasized the shared development philosophy of the Minhang Economic and Technological Development Zone and pledged continued support for enterprises.

Mr. Lukas Meyer, Deputy Consul General of the the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Shanghai, noted that KSB's successful development in China exemplifies the Sino-German economic cooperation. He added that the new plant's inauguration underscores KSB's long-term commitment to the Chinese market. 

Mr. Jonathan Schoo, Vice President of AHK Greater China, remarked that KSB Shanghai's 30-year journey has witnessed China's rapid economic growth and improving business environment. He praised KSB's localization strategy and its integration into the Chinese market. 

Mr. Lu Dongqing, President of Shanghai Electric Nuclear Power Group Co.,Ltd., congratulated KSB Group on behalf of Shanghai Electric Group. As a major shareholder in the joint venture, Mr. Lu pledged continued support for KSB Shanghai's development and the advancement of Sino-German economic cooperation.

Dr. Stephan Timmermann, CEO of KSB Group, expressed strong confidence in China's thriving market and sustained economic growth. He proudly announced that KSB Group achieved record-breaking order intake and sales revenue in fiscal year 2023. Dr. Timmermann emphasized that the significant investment in the chemical engineering pump plant not only enhances the company's manufacturing capabilities but also reflects KSB Group's unwavering commitment to the Chinese market. 

In a symbolic gesture, Mr. Tan Ruicong, Deputy Head of Shanghai Minhang District, presented a calligraphy work " Highest excellence like water " to KSB, which was accepted by Mr. Oswald Bubel, Chairman of KSB Group's Administrative Board. This artwork not only congratulates KSB Shanghai on its 30th anniversary but also embodies the company's development journey, corporate culture, and the close connection between its products and water.

The ceremony also featured the signing of several strategic cooperation agreements, witnessed by local officials and industry partners. These agreements highlight KSB's shared vision with its partners in technological innovation, digital transformation, and green development. 

Mr. He Jun, Executive President of KSB Asia North, delivered an impressive presentation on the "Future is Now" digital factory, showcasing KSB Shanghai's achievements in digital transformation. The company has made significant strides in energy management, logistics, and inventory control through its digital twin factory. KSB Shanghai's self-developed digital platforms and solutions enable real-time monitoring, fault prediction, and remote diagnosis of pumps and systems, as well as intelligent management throughout the product lifecycle.

Mr. He emphasized that digital transformation is a key aspect of KSB Shanghai's innovation-driven development strategy. The company will continue to deepen its digital strategy to create greater value for customers and contribute to China's Industry 4.0 development.

Focusing on the chemical engineering pump plant itself, Mr. Ralf Kannefass, Chief Sales Officer of KSB Group, expressed amazement at the speed of construction, which he sees as a microcosm of both KSB Shanghai's rapid 30-year development and China's booming economy. 

As night fell, KSB Shanghai hosted a delightful dinner cruise on the Huangpu River, allowing guests to enjoy Shanghai's unique charm as an economic hub. 

The dinner reached its climax with an inspiring speech by renowned financial author Wu Chen on the theme of "Entrepreneurial Spirit in the New Era." Mr. Wu's in-depth analysis sparked lively discussions among the guests, providing much food for thought and inspiration. The delightful evening was filled not only with pleasant exchanges but also ignited enthusiasm for exploring future development possibilities, creating high expectations for KSB Shanghai and its partners' bright prospects.
