KSB GIW Inc. Launches Second Generation GIW® LCC-R Slurry Pump with Enhanced Design and Maintenance Features

KSB GIW Inc. is proud to announce the launch of the GIW® LCC-R Gen2 pump, the latest advancement in its industry-leading line of heavy-duty centrifugal slurry pumps. GIW® LCC products are recognized worldwide for superior performance in class 1, 2 or 3 slurry conditions. The GIW® LCC-R Gen2 is a modern redesign which builds on the time-tested performance of the GIW® LCC pump series with customer-requested upgrades and significant ease of maintenance advancements, delivering proven performance in a more compact and efficiently designed package. 

Key updates to the second-generation design include an optimized shaft seal interface with standard front pull-out stuffing box, enabling shaft seals to be changed without removing the hub side casing or bearing assembly. Upgraded maintenance accessibility provides improved access to commonly used fasteners and allows for easier nose gap adjustments and liner removal, reducing downtime. The total number of overall fasteners has been reduced, and all fasteners are now zinc plated for improved corrosion resistance and longer service life.

The GIW® LCC-R Gen 2 also features fully integrated expeller and mechanical seal options. The integrated expeller option eliminates the need for special bearing assemblies and expeller plates, simplifying the operational process. Mechanical seal options are led by the new KSB LAPIS seal developed exclusively for mining applications in KSB's GIW® Slurry Pumps.

Further updates to the GIW® LCC-R Gen2 include a new and improved 70mm shaft and mechanical frame design that is fully integrated with the 100mm and 150mm discharge wetend. Most major wetend spares from first generation pumps are forward compatible with the new design.

The GIW® LCC-R Gen2 represents KSB GIW’s continued commitment to meeting evolving customer needs with innovative, high-quality, and sustainable solutions. As part of that commitment, KSB GIW is also expanding its use of the global supply chain to manufacture GIW® LCC-R Gen2 pumps closer to the markets in which they are used.
