Green shipping by reducing CO2 emissions.

Safely on board: Carbon capture and storage solutions (CCUS)

The climate target and the requirements for the shipping industry are clear: according to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulation, CO2 emissions must be reduced by at least 50 percent by 2050 compared to 2008. Carbon capture and storage (CCUS) is currently the only practicable option for reducing emissions. On board, the utilization of CO2 places very high demands on pump systems and valves and requires maximum operational safety. KSB offers you optimum pumps and valves for all CO2 applications - from carbon capture to utilization and storage - and guarantees you smooth, reliable and efficient operations to reduce CO2 emissions.

Lifting the anchor for green hydrogen

In order to successfully protect the climate, the combustion of fossil fuels must be significantly reduced and the use of alternative energy sources must be stepped up where electrification is not possible. Hydrogen is seen as one of the beacons of hope here - also in shipping. Produced in a climate-neutral way, it can significantly reduce CO2 emissions. As an experienced manufacturer in the field of industrial and chemical processes, we not only offer the necessary expertise, but also the appropriate pumps and valves to efficiently support the entire hydrogen value chain.

More sustainability through climate-neutral fuels

More sustainability through climate-neutral fuels

Reducing CO2 emissions is a top priority for the shipping industry. Non-fossil and carbon-free fuels are therefore attractive solutions for decarbonising shipping, as electrification can only be implemented very slowly in this area. In addition to biomethane, hydrogen, ammonia and methanol (LNGs) are used as alternative fuels. The use of CO2-neutral fuels requires innovative products that guarantee absolute operational reliability as well as efficiency. KSB has many years of experience in the production, transport and storage of alternative fuels and offers you robust, highly resilient and absolutely leak-free pumps and valves for all alternative fuel utilisation processes. Prepare yourself for the future of shipping and discover our concepts for the reduction of CO2 emissions.

Modern scrubber technologies for exhaust gas cleaning at sea

Pioneering concepts for exhaust gas after-treatment to reduce sulphur emissions in maritime transport: Exhaust gas cleaning systems (EGCS), or scrubbers for short, filter sulphur from the exhaust gases and dispose of it through cleaning circuits. All process stages require clear specifications with regard to the process conditions and interactions of the individual components and their critical temperatures require resilient and safe pumps and associated valves. KSB has been significantly involved in the development of scrubber technology for many years and offers a complete product portfolio for waste gas purification. Discover KSB's modern, efficient and safe systems to help you make shipping greener.

Efficient and resource-saving: our pumps for dredgers

Powerful, wear-resistant and optimum efficiency in a wide flow range: Meet our Dutch colleagues at the SMM and learn everything about our pumps for dredging. Our product portfolio of pumps and associated components covers the entire range of dredging applications and guarantees energy efficiency, lower fuel consumption and operational safety for every application: inboard pumps, submersible dredging pumps, single and double-walled pumps, highly wear-resistant slurry pumps and other process pumps. Choose our dredging pumps if you want to reduce your operating costs, increase the efficiency of your equipment and minimize downtime.

Our products for the use of climate-neutral fuels at sea

The use of alternative fuels in shipping poses extraordinary challenges for pumps and valves: On the one hand, the products must withstand the adverse conditions at sea and at the same time guarantee absolute safety when handling even the most critical media. With our products, you benefit from safe, reliable operation and optimum energy efficiency: our magnetically coupled pumps without mechanical seals and the use of wear and corrosion-resistant materials ensure safe pumping and shut-off of fluids - while complying with the highest safety standards.
