High-pressure pumps. Short explained.

This is how high-pressure pumps work

A high-pressure pump is a centrifugal pump with a head of approx. 200 to 1200 m and a maximum operating pressure of up to 600 bar. Pumps for larger heads and pressures are referred to as ultra-high pressure pumps.

High-pressure pumps usually serve to transport water or other fluids from a lower to a higher level. This is required for water supply systems that include the supply of high-rise buildings or suburbs at higher altitudes, for example. In this case a high-pressure pump installed in a pressure booster system can generate the necessary water pressure. With their optimised hydraulic system, the pumps also make a major contribution towards saving energy.

Strengths and applications of KSB high-pressure pumps

The applications of KSB high-pressure pumps are highly diverse. Fluids have to be pumped at increased pressure in many applications. Robust materials, an optimised hydraulic system and high-efficiency motors ensure reliable performance and a long service life of the pump.

Applications of KSB high-pressure pumps:

  • Pressure boosting
  • Industrial plants
  • General irrigation systems
  • Washing plants
  • Spray irrigation systems
  • Fire-fighting systems
  • Water supply systems
  • Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems
  • Marine applications
