KSB’s centrifugal pumps: Powerful no matter what the flow rate

We have continuously developed and extended our range of centrifugal pumps. Today, almost every KSB pump is based on the principle of a centrifugal pump.

Centrifugal pumps: The heart of KSB’s product portfolio

KSB has been manufacturing customised energy-efficient centrifugal pumps for more than a century. In the course of this time, we have continuously developed and expanded our centrifugal pumps, so that today almost every KSB pump is based on the centrifugal pump principle. Thanks to our many years of experience and innovation, we can offer the right pump systems and services for every application. Whether in process engineering and building services, water and waste water management, power engineering or mining: we offer centrifugal pump models and solutions that are perfectly matched to your requirements.

Centrifugal pumps. Short explained.

This is how centrifugal pumps work

Centrifugal pumps have got a long history. In function and design, they have hardly changed. An impeller is fitted inside each pump. The impeller rotates on a drive shaft. It accelerates the flow of the fluid handled. The centrifugal force moves the fluid toward the outer edge of the pump impeller. As a result, the fluid is transported to the outlet opening of the pump. At the same time, a negative pressure zone is created at the inlet opening, which draws the fluid further and further into the centrifugal pump. Even extremely large flow rates can be handled efficiently and continuously in powerful, continuous operation based on this principle. As such, centrifugal pumps are a very popular choice for industrial and continuous processes.

Strengths and applications of KSB centrifugal pumps

Since 1903, when the first KSB centrifugal pump was launched on the market, we have continuously developed our pumps further to be able to offer our customers the best pump systems for their applications.
Whether single-stage or multistage centrifugal pumps, in close-coupled or in back pull-out design: KSB offers individual solutions for the house and garden as well as for industrial applications.
